For School Year 2008-2009, A Better Chance Foundation will start a new class of Night High School scholars at St. Dominic Academy in Pulilan, Bulacan.

St. Dominic Academy in Pulilan is a secondary education institution, part of the Siena College school system, headed by Sister Wilma Bumangabang, O.P.  1,092 high school students attend St. Dominic Academy, including the 94 Night High Scholars they already have in 3 grade levels, started in School Year 2005-2006. 

For School Year 2008-2009, to start in June, 2008, A Better Chance Foundation will be sponsoring 40 scholars in their Night High School Scholarship Program.  The scholars will be recruited from public elementary schools located in neighboring barangays.  Many of St. Dominic's 94 Night High Scholars are working students who have odd jobs in the morning and attend Night High School starting at 3:00 pm.  The Night High School classes in St. Dominic start at 3:00 pm and end at around 7:30 pm., and because they have less class hours compared to other Night High School programs, their scholars have classes from Monday to Saturday.  Saturday classes are from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Most of the Night High scholars attending the program in St. Dominic have parents who are vendors, tricycle drivers, subsistence farmers or unemployed. 

Night High School applicants must be 6th grade graduates and must pass the high school entrance exam in St. Dominic Academy - the same entrance exam given to regular paying students.  Once the applicant passes the exam, he/she will be interviewed together with his/her parent(s).  The third stage of the application process is an ocular visit to the home of the applicant, by a social worker from St. Dominic Academy to ensure that the applicant is among the poorest of the poor.  The Night High Scholarship Program was designed to give underprivileged but bright students a chance to be able to continue their education in hopes of improving their future.

A screening committee from St. Dominic then evaluates an applicant's results in the 3 categories and determines if he/she is eligible for the Night High School Scholarship Program.
