Krokis 2: The Art of Giving
This school year ABC Foundation was the beneficiary of a unique fundraising event organized by Mr. Jonathan Sy of Gallery Big and E Gallerie in Makati.
Last September, 2007, E Gallerie opened Krokis 2: The Art of Giving, showcasing the unique art works of noted artist Mr. Prudencio Lamarroza. The exhibit ran from September 24 to October 7, 2007, with a grand opening September 28, with 30% of all sale proceeds to benefit the different programs of ABC Foundation.
During the opening night, selected 5th year Night High Scholars from Siena College, Taytay, Rizal were able to meet Mr. Lamarroza to ask him questions about where he got his inspiration for his new style. The scholars were very impressed with Mr. Lamarroza's art and said that it inspired them to be more creative.
The event was attended by Sr. Mesalina Cloma, O.P., President of Siena College, Taytay, Mr. Rene Logatoc, Director of the Siena Christian Community Development Center, and other school administrators and teachers.
Also in attendance were friends of ABC Foundation, friends of E Gallerie and Gallery Big, and patrons of the arts.
This unique event was able to raise enough money to put 3 Night High Scholars through 5 years of high school, starting this School Year 2007-2008 to School Year 2011-2012, and to sponsor 30 pairs of eyeglasses for the poor boys and girls of Camarin D Elementary School in Caloocan City during the 2nd Eyeglass Project of ABC Foundation for 2007, held last December 5, 2007.
We are truly grateful to everyone at E Gallerie and Gallery Big, especially to Mr. Jonathan Sy and Ms. Sarah Evangelista and to Mr. Prudencio Lamarozza for their tremendous generosity and support.
Special thanks also to everyone who supported this event by buying an original piece by Mr. Lamarroza.
